How to install the Source 2 Workshop Tools.

This guide explains how to install and launch the Source 2 Workshop Tools.

Each Source 2 game provides a DLC package that contains the tools required to create custom content. These tools are distributed separately from the main game.

The installation steps differ between games.

Counter-Strike 2

1. Launch Counter-Strike 2 from Steam.
2. Click on the Settings menu.
3. Search for Install Counter-Strike Workshop Tools.
4. Change the setting to Yes.

After this quit out of the game, and wait for the workshop tools to install.

Launching the Workshop Tools

After installation, the tools can be accessed through the Addon Launcher. To open it:

1. Launch Counter-Strike 2 from Steam.
2. In the startup menu, select Counter-Strike 2 Workshop Tools.

The Addon Launcher can also be started directly from the installation directory:
bin/win64/cs2cfg.exe

To launch the Workshop tools:

• Click on Create New Addon.
• Give your addon a name and click Create.
• Click on Launch Tools to open the Workshop tools.

Make sure to press on Launch Tools and NOT Edit Addon Map, the latter is broken and should not be used!

Dota 2

1. Open Dota 2 in your Steam Library.
2. Scroll down to the DLC section.
3. Locate the entry labeled Workshop Tools and install it.

Launching the Workshop Tools

After installation, the tools can be accessed through the Addon Launcher. To open it:

1. Launch Dota 2 from Steam.
2. In the startup menu, select Tools.

To launch the Workshop tools:

• Create a new addon.
• Open the Workshop Tools.

Steam VR

Steam VR is an exception. Its tools are included with the game by default and can be found in:
SteamDir\SteamVR\tools\steamvr_environments\game\bin\win64
