FAQ and troubleshooting
Game installation is not found
Open Settings and select the
Counter-Strike 2 installation directory. The selected directory must contain game/bin/win64/cs2.exe.
Console features do not connect
Counter-Strike 2 dropped -netconport in a recent update, which silently broke the features that relied on it.
Hammer 5 Tools now uses a console command pipe instead.
Launching the Workshop Tools through
Hammer 5 Tools sets the pipe up automatically. When starting them from Steam, add these launch options:
-insecure -concommandpipe .\pipe\hammer5tools_cmd,.\pipe\hammer5tools_out -con_logfile hammer5tools_console.log
UnrealPorter cannot find Unreal Engine
UnrealPorter does not provide a manual engine picker. It detects launcher installations
from Epic Games Launcher data, source builds registered with Windows, and UE_* folders
under the standard Epic Games directories on the C: and D: drives.
Confirm that the engine root contains Engine/Binaries/Win64 and that the project's
.uproject has a valid EngineAssociation. Register a custom source build with Unreal's
version selector, then reopen UnrealPorter. If the association cannot be matched,
Hammer 5 Tools uses the newest engine it detects. Check Editor Instance before converting.
